I wish there was no doping in sports, but that's just a wishful thinking.
In this world of win at any cost and devil take the hindmost I like the idea of a super-champion.
Like Lance Armstrong. He's neither a saint nor a role model for nice guys.
What he is is a winner, an individual in a mass market world. He's beaten cancer, his doped up sports rivals (repeatedly), a shady dope testing system, and vindictive "sports writers".
Is he in it for himself? For sure. But his "leftovers" have helped a lot of people that might have otherwise been left for dead.
A great guy? Can't say, never met him.
A great champion? For sure.
