It never rains where you live? With a folding bike I can always bum a ride home with a co-worker if an unrelenting rain storm rolls in. It hardly happens, but it give me a lot of peace of mind not having to worry about weather forecast too much!
A lot of us ride in the rain, snow, or whatever. I can see where a folder would have advantage if you couldn't ride home for whatever reason. However, I wouldn't bring a folder into the passenger area of somebody else's car and there's no guarantee there'd be room in the trunk.
