I use a Bell bicycle helmet that fits pretty well, but every time I take it off it yanks on the hair on crown of my head. I believe the culprit is the strap adjustment mechanism in the back of the helmet (when I took my helmet off and looked, one of my hairs was sticking out of it). My hair isn't real long, but I'm trying to avoid cutting it super close.

I've recently been wearing a bandana under my helmet, but that gets pretty hot (especially under the noon sun!). Are there any better alternatives or better materials to wear under my helmet? It's driving me crazy! Thanks.
