It's nothing like Astoria Park which is considerably older and has a fantastic view from the foot of the Triboro Bridge.
I think Gantry Plaza is a fairly recent development to spruce up the waterfront around Queens West - some of the tallest buildings in Queens. It's a waterfront park surrounding the old Gantry rail bridges and that great Pepsi Cola Sign. Water Taxi Park is to the South and Hunter's Point which was just acquired by the City earlier this week is slated to become some kind of huge affordable housing development.
