Well what do consider a long ride? I take 30-40 mile rides regularly on these risers and am at least as comfortable as I ever was on my drops (which I only ever got into climbing hills). The roadies I ride with on longer rides never seem to get off the tops of their dropbars, so I don't see much of a difference.

And they make a hell of a lot more sense than riding track drops on longer rides.
