Not that this counts for anything - but being an "old fart" - I can remember when people "tried" to drive well.

In the old days, people would be embarrassed if they could not drive directly in the center of their lane. They would be "nervous" and embarrassed if they drifted on to the yellow center line.

Now a days, when I am returning to my urban home area from rural riding areas, I notice that much of the oncoming auto traffic on rural two lane highways fails to respect the center line until they meet opposing traffic. Typically, people - now a days don't feel a need to stay in their lane unless they think there is a chance of a head on collision.

Driving well, is no longer considered cool. Kicking back and listening to jams and or texting or blabbing on the phone are what's important about driving. Go ahead and beotch on the bike forums - but "pray" for karma for all the ass-holes out there.....
