Kona Dew Plus vs Dew Deluxe

Hi everyone,
I'm a new commuter and I'm in the market for a hybrid bike. My local shop stocks Kona and the Dew series seem to be an excellent deal for what you get. Right now I'm between the Dew Plus ($549 CAD) and Dew Deluxe ($699 CAD).
Most of the components are the same, but do you guys think the extra $150 is worth it for the following upgrades?

Dew Plus ($549)
FSA Dyna Drive crankarm
KMC Z-72 Chain
Shimano C Series f/d
Shimano EZ Fire Integrated shifters
Hayes MX4 Mechanical disc brakes
Rigida ZAC-19SL wheels

Dew Deluxe ($699)
FSA Alpha Drive crankarm
Shimano 40 chain
Shimano Altus f/d
Shimano Acera Rapidfire shifters
Shimano 486 Hydraulic Disc brakes
Rigida ZAC 2000

I've been told by a cycling friend that the only real difference that I might notice is a smoother ride with upgraded wheels and less maintenance with the hydro disc brakes. Any thoughts about this?
I don't mind paying extra but I'd like to be worthwhile, not just paying for a better bike on paper.
Thanks in advance!
