I actually ride Flite's on my modern race bikes and love them. But I find the wider version plain plastic Unicanitor just as comfortable and have one on my 70's Super.
Non period saddles really ruin the look of bike for me. But I guess I'm lucky as I can ride most saddles without any comfort issues. I totally understand people using whatever saddle they have to though.
I just got a nice vintage 3ttt saddle that looks very similar to the Unicanitor shape. It's slated for the 73 Super (if the frame ever gets finished!). And I have a very nice Concor on the gold Mexico now. However, the rest still retain the Flites since I just can't find the nerve to put the NOS suede Concors on the bikes I am riding. So, I retain them for shows and stick with what my tush is comfortable with.
Granted, it's a funny look - but comfort's the name of the game for me here. Here's hoping the 3ttt is good in that context.
Gotta say this: how lucky you are to be able to rock a straight plastic saddle! My butt would never forgive me!
