Sorry to hear about your accident, but am glad to hear you're okay for the most part. I must chime in, however, on the question of whether you should hire an attorney. I believe you should.

First a disclaimer: I'm a lawyer, but do business and real estate law rather than personal injury. I know just enough about personal injury to be dangerous. I am by no means a shill for the personal injury attorneys bar - and think much of it is actually pretty sleazy - but I do know that an experienced personal injury lawyer will:

1. know much better than you what your case is actually worth;
2. be much better at negotiating with the insurance company; and, very importantly,
3. not say anything to the insurance company that may hurt your case.
