You could look at the topographic map (Mountain Equipment Coop for hard copies or use this:http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business...02_167954.html and assess elevation based on where the contours cross the route, and calculate grades by combining this with scaled distances.

Or, you can log on to Google Earth and obtain elevations and distances calculate grades that way.

If you compare the two let us know-not sure how accurate Google Earth is!
