Removing rear wheel from single speed

Hi

Apologies in advance for the slightly embarrassing newbie question...

I'm trying to remove the rear wheel from my genesis flyer single speed in order to remove a punctured inner tube. I've removed the nuts on the axle, and have twiddled the little screw thing that seems to slacken the chain a little bit.

But I still can't the wheel off - the chain doesn't seem to slacken enough to be able to remove it from the gear, or to be able to slide the wheel out from the groove it's in (the 'dropout'?)

If somebody could explain (in really simple terms) what I need to do, that would be much appreciated...

If I need to provide more information, let me know.

thanks in advance!
