I'm considering some riding shorts for the summer since I've been doing longer rides. I'm still bike commuting too, for work and for fun on the weekends, and I'm wondering if I get off my bike and hang out at a park for a few hours or go bar hopping in the evening, if the shorts will be uncomfortable. In the winter I wear a pair of Underarmor leggings when I commute and they are fine to wear in between riding, but they don't have special padding.

For the record, I plan on getting liner shorts that i can wear under my regular shorts.
