i too wouldn't want to include stopped time in my average speed- it's already influenced by the number of stop lights you hit as well as having to slow down for obstacles. I know that i can ride in the 19-20mph range but my average speed never comes in close to this because i hit alot of stop lights on the way to work. it's also influenced by how easily i can run stop signs. yesterday on the way to work i ran all but 1 and my mph was quite a bit higher than going home when it seemed like i couldn't catch a green light or run a stop sign
Agreed. I average 16-18 on most of the path that I go on, but my average pace is about 15 when I complete the trip because of the beginning/end where I go through my apartment complex (can't go through an apartment complex @ 18mph now can we =[ ).
