All the teams know that getting the yellow this week will get them too weak for the next stages that are harder than today's. Sastre knows this, Lance knows this, the schelcks and cadel knows this also. The other point is that the only guy who has a descent team this year is lance. Cadel is by himself again, the other 6 guys who ride with him will be virtually dead for the end of next week. Sastre same situation, and the schelcks too... in my opinion contador just showed up with a psychological move. I bet not even contador knows exactly how well lance is climbing, i saw a few minutes online and lance was just like riding in the park today... He is up to something, the question is when and where he will leave us all open jaws...

I hear you and the point is valid if 4 of your top 5 riders arent in the top 5. If your team is that strong you are gonna have to ride like you are protecting yellow even if the actual top spot is occupied by another. So i think regardless of yellow on Astanas back or not, they are in a position that they are forced to control the TdF from this point on.
