This issue with this kid is that when people started reading his comments and saw he was obviously an inexperienced rider, they asked why he spent so much on his first real bike. This kid even agreed with my analogy about me never skiing and showing up on the Bunny Slopes with the highest end and most expensive ski gear and clothing just to fall on my ass. That doesn't make others jealous if they called me a tool if I did that, it makes me a tool.
But then the kid responds with the "frugal" lifestyle B##$#$H which insults people's intelligence when anyone with 1/2 a brain can see this kid isn't supporting himself. Look, there are many hobbies I think I may be interested in, but I don't rush out and buy the most expensive equipment right off the bat.
I'd go a step further and say that the younger generations in this country have been so overindulged and spoiled which books have been written on this subject and these kids cannot see a separation between their parent's success and their perceived own success.
They didn't accomplish anything yet on their own yet they often feel entitled. When these same kids get into the workforce and are exposed to "real" competition and bosses that want results, they have no frustration tolerance because they were the children of the "protect their self esteem" generation.
I don't know this kid, but he tries to present as if he purchased a $120k Porsche on his own with an Audi as his beater. You guys are total idiots if you buy this crap. Doesn't make him a bad kid, but he is naive and that is where a lot of the backlash is coming from I think. Yes, everything is relative as far as what one can afford, but I doubt Bill Gates buys his kids the most expensive Stradivarius Violin worth millions for his kid's first violing lesson.

Its the "stealth" bragging that irks me. But we are giving the kid what he wants, and that is attention.
Here Camhabib, I'll hug you today.
