When you're looking at bikes, how they handle and their front and rear suspensions are the most important things to consider. Everything else can be replaced easily time. The FSR XC is a great bike that handles well. Specialized has been building bikes a long time and they've got the frame design down. Also, keep in mind that unlike most things you purchase, your bike is going to last a long time. 5 years... maybe 10 years. So buy a little more than you think you can afford.
