Bikes: 650b traditional rando, 700c SS rando, 700c fast rando..... plus a mountain, folder, and retired urban track in the basement

i went from clips and single straps, to double straps, to clipless. as above people have mentioned, riding clipless is a significant improvement over clips and straps, even if you're running doubles.

if you're spending more time on your bike than off, get some MTB shoes so you can still walk around.

if you're spending more time off your bike than on, i don't see the problem with clips and straps.
