BTW... my TT and road bikes have exactly the same top tube lengths (55cm). I have a 120mm stem on the road bike and a 90mm stem on the TT bike, but I could easily use a 60-130mm stem on the TT bike and it would only effect the base bar reach... which I don't use often enough for it to matter.
Sliding the aerobars fore or aft a long way will have an impact on the bike's handling. As I understand it, you don't want the elbows too far out of line with the fork and head tube.

There was an interesting article on slowtwitch about the concept of building a bike "from the bars back" because of all the variability between aerobars, and the fact that some bars actually require a shorter/longer head tube and/or top tube for a perfect fit...
