Ummm... which Kool-Stop pads did you put on? I like the Kool-Stop salmon colored pads, but I've had problems with them squealing and shuddering on brand-new rims. (Two different bikes, front and rear.) When I switched to Kool-Stop black pads, the noise and the shake went away. After the pads wore down and the rims smoothed out, I switched to the salmon pads again and everything was fine.
