I'm sure he meant headset (vs fork) mounted brake cable hanger. And I think changing that is a good idea. If you can't find that, there's a chance that changing the brake cable hanger for another one made by a different company can help. Sometimes changing the stiffness from rigid to stiff or from stiff to rigid can make the required difference.
