My vote is either for the Marzocchi Marathon or Fox F80 RLT. Both of which I can source for you if you'd rather not pay retail. The Manitou Black Super Air 80 is also a good buy if you're on a budget. ( all of these forks are 80mm and air sprung and super reliable, which is why I suggest them ).
I agree, I hate screwing around with forks. I even think lockout is a joke.
