Tender feet and recumbents

I have noticed something I find rather interesting.

When I was riding Eagle I was experiencing a real "soreness" in my feet. Tom Stormcrow suggested skate shoes and wide predals so I got me some AirWalks and a set of Primo Super Tenderizer BMX pedals and tried, but it was still pretty sore and I could only manage these piddly little rides.

So time goes by, you'll have to imagine a montage of seasons rapidly changing, clouds scudding across the sullen sky, whatever; but here I am next year and in MUCH more fit condition. I can walk TWO MILES and never experience the kind of soreness in my feet so it CAN'T be a stress or loading issue.

BUT....

When I lay back on our super plush reclining couch to watch something on the giganto-screen I experience the same feeling in my feet for a time upon standing up. A tenderness much the same as you'd feel from sitting on a stage and swinging your feet and then hopping down onto them.

Like it's a blood engorgement thing, a matter of positioning rather than loading.

I get the same thing if I'm in my adjustable bed with my feet up.

I rode like a demon my first time out in years on an upright bike and it took a mile before I got any kind of burning in my lower extremities, so I am thinking there is a "there" there.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomena?

If so, what was the correlation to your weigh and/or physical condition?

Did it improve as your condition improved or am I gonna have to forget about eventually building an Atomic Zombie "Marauder" LWB lowracer.
