I'm fortunate on my commute; between my house and work there are 3 public facilities on the MUP if I take that route. Other routes go past at least one or two 24hr gas stations.
300k/400k brevets that go through the state/nat'l parks with 50 mile stretches of road marked "no services". Uh, yeah... people just go in the woods. Some people just pull to the side of the road and go "at" the woods.
