If your wheel isn't too deep of a "V", drill the stem holes out to 11/32" and put schraeder valve tubes in. Much more trouble free. Very compressor friendly, too. bk
The reason Presta valves are preferred on road bikes is because the stem hole is smaller. A bigger hole weakens the rim.
