I don't get your comment. This is a track bike for the track, that's why I would mess with track geometry.

And mihlbach why are carbon stays a gimmick? They seem to me as much of a gimmick as carbon forks, ie not a gimmick.

I think that getting into full 953 or ti would be too expensive. At that price point I think a lot of people would go to a custom builder for a better fitting frame of lesser material. Like people said alu makes a lot of sense for this bike. So I say why not increase the price a tiny bit by just upgrading the rear triangle. I think carbon matches with the alu main triangle better than some higher level steel which is also a possibility. A little performance boost for not a lot of money makes sense to me and it would be a unique offering on the mid-high level track frame scene.
I agree that this would be cool, but probably not would sell as well as either a full carbon or full aluminium model. I know that personally, this bike is going to take a heavy toll on my bank account and really wouldn't be able to afford anything more expensive.
