Would it be a safe bet that you are not in the United States? I've never seen one of those here. I don't think Bottecchia had distribution in the US from around '75 - '83. Anyway...

That would be their top of the line professional model. Earlier (mid 70's and before) it was actually called the Professional Model but I don't know if they kept the name through '83. From '84 on they changed to a different frame with investment cast lugs and SLX tubing called the Equipe or Squadra depending on which country you're in for the top model. That one is probably SL tubing. Very fine bike though. Alas I know of no catalogs from that period.
