Remember the downside of running - the toll that it takes on he body. I know too many lifetime runners who can't run any longer because their cartilidge and bones are destroyed, so they're switching to cycling which they can do forever. Damage from running has a cumulative effect like smoking, sun damage, drinking too much or radiation exposure.
True, but everything in moderation (except smoking) is good for you. A few miles a week with the proper shoes will actually help out with bone density/staving off bone decay.
