Did it wiggle when installed?

I've got a bike that came with one, and that sucker was solid once I bolted it down. Mine was in four pieces (not counting the bolts ) -- a steerer clamp in two halves, the "shaft", and the faceplate.

The Specialized shim-adjustable stems look to be the much better option when radical angle changes aren't needed.
