I dont care if you saved all summer for a new bike or if your a millionaire; lack of research and attention to detail when buying an expensive bike and having the attitude that "the most expensive bike is obviously the best" is disrespectful to cyclists everywhere and it cheapens what we all work so hard to achieve. If you cant respect the machine, you shouldnt be riding it.
I don't get that, alot of the fun in taking on a new hobby is learning about it. Researching the gear, learning about it, and discussing with others who share your passion but have more experience. I wonder if the guy buying the bike in your post was buying it for someone else, that would seem to make more sense.
