I basically built nearly the same bike last week. I took a Rusty $10 thrift store 1988 Worldsport (picture of it as found about 10 pages back in the thread) that I had parted right down to the frame and painted it satin black (it was black but the paint was hosed up). I had a 1990 Trek 950 (about 6 pages back) that I had sold the wheels off. I took its Straight bars, Seat, suntour Acushift parts, Cranks and free hub for the schwinn. Took a set of Araya 700 rims with threaded hub put a set of 700x23's on it. I have a set of Shamano brakes but really wish I had the Canti's!




Next I am turning the Trek 950 I stripped down to the frame into 42CM touing bike for my wife with a 7 speed or hopefully 8speed STI's and drop bars.
