Yeah, I really wanted to point her in the direction of Jamis Commuter 3 cause of stock fenders, Nexus 8, etc., but she is not getting rid of the Deluxe Relic; way too cool of a bike to sell or toss into storage.
If you are looking to save a few bucks, I picked up two Jamis Commuter's at Bicyclebananas.com for $399 each. They're 2007 overstock. I love 'em, they save a lot of mileage on my older bike.
