Sometimes carving that moving gap in the peds is the best fun a messenger gets in the day. A skilled messenger will be gone before the ped even knows what happened. You can sometimes hear the choked off scream or the sucking breath 'OMG' as you pass. Flying down city staircases in the core is good for this too.
