I have to fly to visit my family, since they live almost 3000 miles from where I live.

If you visit family only occasionally, say quarterly, it seems ridiculous to keep a car for that reason alone. I would think this an especial hardship in Toronto where parking and other car costs are steep (not to mention the difficulty of traveling by car there...).

However, it seems that you have a car for several other reasons, so maybe using it to travel to nearby relatives would work.

I find getting around Southern Ontario to be a little harrowing. It's so crowded on the freeways and traveling by car is not pleasant. Would the bus be possible?
