I was on my Dahon Smoothhound today, in a "spirited" ride against a 17 yr old who was riding my Moulton TSR. It was going great, he's a very fit rider (less than 1/3 my age) and we were really pushing each other. About 8 miles into it, I ran over some glass which penetrated my Schwalbe Marathons (so much for kevlar protection

).
So, no problem, I have a spare tube and tools. And I have the handy-dandy, ballyhooed Dahon Biologic Seatpost Pump. Nifty pump built into the seatpost. I changed the tube and started to pump up the tire. It was then I discovered that the pump hose was friggin' cracked

rendering the pump useless! This bike is two years old. I've used the pump maybe 3 times altogether. How the he!! could the thing be cracked!
Upon closer examination, the pump hose is made from some really cheap-ass, brittle plastic. Give me a friggin' break, Dahon! Your engineers come up with with this brilliant, probably trade-marked design, and you can't spend an extra $0.005 to make it with with a hose so the d@mn*d thing will last longer than 3 uses!
Idiocy like this just fries my @ss!
