Oil, grease, and WD40 all have the same fault: they will creep out from under the seatpost clamp due to the tension in the clamp. The proper stuff to use is antisieze lube. I can't believe you couldn't find it in an auto parts store or hardware store. It contains solid particles which will not flow out of bolts, seatposts, etc.
