There's nothing wrong with using WD-40 on a bike provided you recognize its limitations. It is not a long-term lubricant or antiseize, but works fine as a light lubricant (e.g. brake pivots, squeaky parts) or water displacer (e.g. after riding in the rain).
and of course, not to mention, it's better than the alternative here, which is riding without any lube. Use WD-40 until you can find some real grease, it shouldn't be too hard.
