- Gas and tolls to get to our starting point (and home at the end) - $50
- Hotels - $600
- Campgrounds - $70 (a lot since we didn't use two nights we reserved, and NY State campgrounds run a scam where you have to reserve two nights, even if you're only using one.)
- Food - perhaps $400 (including restaurants)
- Indcidentals (museums, spending money, etc) - $200
That's $1320 for 2 people over 7 days, including a hotel the night before and a B&B the night after. It sounds like a lot, until you break it down and realize we spend $95/person/day - cheaper than a regular summer vacation, more expansive than past tours I've been on.
(We spent around $300 on new camping gear before the tour, but that's not part of this.)
