You did read my recommendation, right? I said save the used solvent for reuse in the next cleaning session. I like the coffee filter idea, too. Clean solvent is not necessary, as it gets filthy as soon as it hits the chain.
I messes up, I should have focused on where you said to let it evaporate. The coffee filter doesn't get the solvent totally clean of grit but it does a fine job. All you need is a nice wide funnel to hold the coffee filter at the mouth of the container.
