A properly adjusted saddle will not give you any trouble with your love life. (I remain skeptical that even an improperly adjusted would.) If you find that you are riding too much on the middle-to-forward part of your crotch, then try pushing yourself radically backward on the saddle (which may require pulling the saddle forward a bit). Make sure you're riding on the sit-bones. The width of the saddle should be tailored to them more than anything else.
If you are new or returning to cycling, don't forget that you need to give your legs and butt muscles time. As they get stronger, they will support your weight better, taking the pressure off of the soft tissues. As Sheldon Brown reports, bike shops sell a lot of saddles just as the weather turns nice in the Spring. It's not that the old saddle has gotten harder, it's that the muscles have gotten softer.
Best of luck!
Cheers,
Jamie
