1) One minute power. Closing gaps is about short intense efforts. Doing one minute intervals will help with this.

2) work on reading the situation. In a mixed group, (and in lower category races) when it gets hard, people are going to get shelled, you need to look around and identify the likely canidates to go OTB, and not be behind them. Conversely, what you want to do is find a strong smooth wheel to follow. If you're behind that guy, and a gap develops, they can tow you up.
Thanks for that...VERY helpful. I really need to start doing intervals.
