Iv'e used mineral spirits mixed with Mobil 1 for ever. Mix 3 to 1, put in a re sealable plastic container throw your chain in shake, done.. Actually if you want to make sure that all the solvent or what ever cleaner your using is gone or evaporated use a heat gun. Works best if the chain is off the bike as derailuer pulley's tend to melt if they they get to hot. Don't ask me how I know this Depending on what type of chain oil your using if you oil the chain when it's hot it seems to wick into the chain much quicker too. I just ordered some new oil, and that's what the manufacture told me they do, in fact at shows or bike races they use a fry pan and heat their oil up to 200 degrees. Dip in 4 chains and what ever water or solvents that are in the chain after cleaning are quickly boiled out. Told me that the reason most chain manufacturers say never ever soak chain to clean is that most people don't properly re-lube the chain internally.
