pqk - absolutely, drying is important. I "Simple Greened" my chain last night, then after rinsing, placed it on the electric cooker "burner" at a mild heat to drive off the water trapped in the links & rollers. Not mad/red hot, just enough to get a sizzle if you touched it with a damp finger. It was allowed cooled overnight and refitted and oiled sparingly this morning.
Cleaning the chain is easy, making a good job of the cassette, chainrings & derailleur pulleys is what takes most of the effort.
