I have botto on "ignore" so I don't know what he/she/it wrote above, but the 3.0 was available in a road race and a crit geometry. My bike had the crit geometry. The 2.8 was offered only in the road race geo. The 3.0 and 2.8 designations were the nominal weight of the frame in lbs. The 3.0 had mostly round tubes; the 2.8 had radically ovalized tubes.
