No need to get all wound up! Relax, have a beer and read my posts again. I'm simply pointing out that while you have the right to ride 3 abreast, doing so on a curving country road is not a good idea. Riding single file gives people who are going to fast a chance to go around you albeit probably too close. 3 abreast means they have to stop. Hopefully they can.Is it worth being right? I'm a pretty mellow driver these days and since I've been riding the bike, much more respectful of bikers and joggers and give them wide berth. You have many rights. They are in black and white. Trouble is the world for the most part is gray. Your attitude could get you killed. I'd prefer that didn't happen. My original post was just to point out that not all drivers had bad attitudes for no reason. Bad bikers, bad car guys. Simple as that. Our local law enforcement makes a ton of money off of out of staters speeding. That combined with knuckleheads on their cells and texting makes me as a biker very defensive. I could give a crap about being right.I'm not going to ride way out in the lane just because I can. I want to survive and go home.
My attitude? Hell, I love biking and admire those who ride smart. I do the same in the car. Where did I say anything bad about cyclists except to point out that not all are that smart. I've seen plenty of stupid things done on a bike and accidents almost caused by a careless or thoughtless biker. Same with cars.
I've seen what happens between a car and a bike. Riding with my friend in his VW bug one day (long ago), going well under the speed limit, we had a guy hit us broadside on a bike. He had come off a side street full tilt and hit the front of the car. I'll remember it forever since his face and mine were inches apart as he hit the windshield and stayed there for what seemed like forever. we hit the brakes and he went flying into the road. We thought he was dead. He came to, pretty screwed up and started yelling how we hit him. Thank god a state trooper was a car behind us and saw everything. It was pretty nasty and not something I want to see again. Bastard called my buddy after getting out of the hospital and wanted him to pay for the bike. Right!
Hey,some people are jerks! But before I totally condemn this Terry, I be interested to know why He/she has this attitude. Or do we automatically just jump on people who don't agree with us?
