I made low budget tool stash from a tennis ball container.
First, I measured the height of my water bottle cage and marked the height on the container. Then I set up a jig matching the height of the mark on the container. I clamped a razor blade in place and rotated the container gently against the blade, scoring the container. A few more turns, and I had a nice clean cut.
Then I just slid the top part inside the bottom half.
It's plenty large to hold any combo of spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, a wrench, allen bolt keys, and CO2 inflator.
