Running for me is the ultimate squeeze-in-a-workout activity. I can do it when the weather's terrible, or when there's not enough time to get a real cycling workout.
XC skiing is the ultimate aerobic workout. If you have access to trails in the off season, you should try it. Many elite cyclists have. Skate-skiing: excellent for lower body muscular endurance.
