Saddle Swap Question
Preface: After dealing with lower back issues for over a year, I've finally decided to go get a retul fit. I'm hoping it helps.
Alright, so here goes:
I'd been having a lot of issues with saddles (saddle sores, numbness, etc) so a few weeks ago I ordered a specialized toupe through a sponsor shop. Turns out the saddles are backordered due to the model year change.
I got a Forte Pro SLX from a forum member a while ago, and I decided to throw that on a bit ago.
I've been using it and I like it so far. I haven't thought about saddles in a bit, nor have I had any discomfort during or after a ride. I've been doing a bunch of hard road races on this thing as well, and I've done recovery rides on it. It just works for me.
The specialized saddle won't be in for another week atleast. The retul fitter wants me to have atleast a few rides on the new saddle before he'll fit me with it. I'm not even sure that the toupe will work for me.
So I'm wondering.
-Should I put off the fit until I get to test ride the toupe for a bit? This means I won't do it for atleast another 2-3 weeks.
or
-Should I say eff it and just get the fit with the forte saddle and keep using what works for me?
The weight difference in the saddles is about 30-40 grams. The toupe is 175 ish and the forte is about 210.
I'm quite comfortable on the forte, and it's much cheaper than the Toupe even after the team deal.
