I've had bees get caught in my helmet. That sort of thing is not conducive to focusing on the road!

Yesterday's ride home was pretty hot. near 100F (38C), hot breeze in the valley, baking sun on the hills. It was a nice sweat. I had a haircut appointment that I had to go to within 20 minutes of arriving home, so I did my best to cool down, and finished my shower with pure cold water.

Decent ride in this morning, about 15 minutes later than usual. Damn near T-boned a dude on a LeMond who blew through a stoplight as I was crossing on green, at a good clip (22-23). to his credit, he skillfully jammed on his brakes, with the appropriate rearward body shift. He stopped about a foot shy of where we would have collided. Close call.
As it happens, I rolled up to a light many blocks and a couple of turns later and he had just pulled up to the same light. I said "you almost got me there!" (in a joking voice) as I pulled up. He said "yeah that would've been ironic".

Pretty typical ride in other than that.
