I started with atacs (on sale at now pricepoint for $49.98) and have settled on the eggbeaters. I think both are great but I give the nod to the eggbeaters based on ease of use and weight (but just by a few ounces), and I've got them installed on my fg, mt. and road bikes.

I tend to recycle things, so the atacs and their cleats sit in my bike drawer, patiently awaiting their day of redemptive resurrection on one bike or another.
