Always look at the tube that pops. It will tell you about the problem. If there is a long gash/tear opening along the side then it was from overpressurization or blow out - caused by improper mounting, overpressurization (most likely not your cause), or a filing tire bead or rim.

I have a feeling you didn't mount it correctly.
